“John Brennan for CIA Director……..”

2013, has brought in more swift turns in the political sphere that only presents one sure standing, that nothing is going to change dramatically, the conflict in Syria continues, consistent disdain in Iran and the Euro continues to plummets with the continuing increase in unemployment. I, however, would like 2013 to be a precursor to change, where policy administrators really open their eyes, and stop insulating the elite and insert some equilibrium in the current forlorn environment.

So let’s start with the CIA; John Brennan for CIA Director…..,why has Barack Obama endorsed a drone heavy candidate? Barack Obama’s recent choice for CIA director has caused controversy; Obama has decided that John Brennan a Republican is the best man for the job. However,  Brennan removed his name from the running four years ago because of his increasingly supportive position of Bush’s torture policies, which seriously offended the Liberals.

Therefore, why has Barack Obama presented such a contentious candidate, this move will send the CIA into a new direction in terms of the increase in the use of drones. The secrecy around the drones is a stepping stone towards the progression of robotic warfare.

The direction of US policy will inevitably be greater militarised, Brennan is a controversial figure that will re-introduce the types of interrogations that were rampant during the Bush-era, with Brennan at the helm of the CIA it will certainly be taking a look at its dark side.
